I just wanted better commuter shorts...

As a cycle commuter in London for many years, I found it hard to source decent cargo shorts that I could cram keys, phone, sunglasses and security pass into and easily access them in a hurry. I also wanted the shorts to be for all weathers: in winter they can sit on top of padded shorts and leggings and have enough room to pedal comfortably and repel the rain.

In the end I decided to give it a go myself and launch the first Fablecycle range in time for spring 2023. Prior to that, as the products were developed in autumn/winter 2022, I experimented with different types of fabric for the best comfort of the cargo shorts. You can rest assured that as your test pilot, the products have been battle-tested on London's mean streets, in forests and up mountains, in all weathers!

The fun of being able to design and name the products in the range reflects that I recently attended an axe-throwing instructor's course, so my commuter shorts are named Tomahawk! For me, the range needed to have a matching pair of lycra shorts to wear underneath, and finally a dri-fit t-shirt for the better weather and as a base layer. Like the cargo shorts, these have been extensively tested on the bike and in the washing machine.

Get yourself Fablecycle clothing and you will be wearing cycle commuter gear that I am personally very proud to pedal in!
